Somok Banerjee

I am a PhD student in the Marine Biochem Lab and Prof. Glen D’Souza’s lab, where I study microbial interactions in coral-associated symbiotic systems. I completed my Master’s in Microbiology at Tripura University, India, where I developed a microbial biofilm-based bioreactor for dairy wastewater treatment, and I also hold an advanced diploma in Bioinformatics.

My research interests span coral microbiomes, microbial interactions, and the use of microfluidics to study environmental microbiology at the single-cell level.

Beyond research, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and exploring new restaurants and cafés.
