Hi! I am in my senior year as an undergraduate double majoring in Biological Sciences and Biochemistry at Arizona State University. While I have been interested in biochemistry for some time, my interest in the marine sciences only picked up last year as I learned more about coral, coral bleaching, and the role of reactive oxygen species in this process.
My current focus in the lab is studying lipid peroxidation levels in corals treated with artificial upwelling. I am working with both Dr. Liza Roger from ASU, and Dr. Yvonne Sawall from ASU BIOS. After I graduate, I hope to get my PhD in biochemistry and continue to research ROS and RNS in coral bleaching, perhaps also intersecting with the field of cancer research.
Outside of the lab, I am interested in reading, music, and drawing (occasionally), and I have a big soft spot for the number 16.
