Elizabeth (Liz) Wu
Hello! I am a Ph.D. student in Dr. Liza Roger’s Lab within the Biochemistry doctorate program at Arizona State University.
My research journey began with exploring reptile ecophysiology during my B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology and led to managing the Behavioral Neuroscience of Memory and Aging Lab at ASU to study the connections between menopause and cognition. Along the way, I also had the pleasure of completing my Masters in Leadership and Management through the ASU Thunderbird School of Global Management.
One lifelong area of wonder and curiosity of mine has been the field of marine biology. I am so excited to combine my passions in studying organismal physiology with my love of the ocean and its extraordinary creatures. I strive to contribute quality research to the persistent mysteries surrounding the cellular mechanisms of coral bleaching to protect these incredible and ecologically important creatures.
After my Ph.D., I will utilize my experiences to continue exploring the unanswered questions of marine research and biochemistry, expanding our understanding of cnidarian physiology.
