Reuven White

I am a Senior student at Arizona State University’s School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE). I am majoring in Astrobiology and the Biogeosciences and am set to graduate in May 2024 with a second undergraduate degree in the biological sciences. I’m originally from California but spent a lot of time in Canada (where I earned my first bachelors).
My overall goal is to help the Earth and its environments, most notably the symbiotic relationships and those of extremophiles that significant parts of our ecosystem depend on, such as the relationship between corals and algae. I hope to find sustainable systems to not only revive our reefs but make them more resilient to humanity’s continual destructive tendencies, such as climate change and our failures to combat it.
I plan to continue on to a Ph.D. and a Postdoc to learn as much as possible and climb as far up the science chain as possible to help the oceans using every tool at my disposal.
