Cecelia Darter

I am a sophomore at Arizona State University, double majoring in Sustainability and Conservation Biology and Ecology, and getting certificates in Cross Sector Leadership and Water Resources.
Originally from Iowa, I made the move to Arizona for both my studies and the warmer climate. However I dream of living closer to the ocean, preferably along the beach where I can explore everything the ocean has to offer from my back door. Outside of academics I love to read, find new restaurants, learn new things and run half marathons.
After finishing my undergraduate degree, I would like to pursue a PhD in marine biology, focusing on Marine Botany and how we can use the different plants in the ocean to help mitigate the impacts of climate change. The ocean has always been my passion, and I am so excited about where my passion takes me in the coming years.
